The primary analysis was conducted on a text group by text group basis. In each case, the prospographic data from the group were collected and examined in order to identify individuals named in them as precisely as possible. By comparing clusters of such individuals, an assessment was made concerning the identity of the Abum-waqar with whom each text is concerned. The goal of this study was to reconstruct the archive of an individual by name of Abum-waqar known to us from numerous cuneiform documents of the Old Babylonian Period purported to originate from the ancient city of Larsa during the reign of Rim-Sin I. The primary corpus to be analysed consisted of one hundred and eighteen documents presently belonging to the Babylonian Collection at Yale. Four text groups were represented: real estate transactions, legal cases, accounting documents, and miscellaneous. In the final chapter, the conclusions arrived at over the course of the analysis were presented: all documents which were found to involve Abum-waqar son of Iddin-Erra with a reasonable degree of statistical certainty were listed. The analysis revealed, however, that while certain documents did belong to the private archive of Abum-waqar, a large number represented his dossier within a larger, public archive. The study concludes with a general description of both archive and dossier.A secondary corpus of nineteen documents---2 from the Babylonian Collection, the remainder from the Louvre---was also discussed.Following a general overview of these corpora and statement of issues to be addressed, relevant background information concerning the site of Larsa was presented. The problem of ascertaining Larsa provenance for documents was analysed in terms of the archaeology of the site, and known issues with respect to the chronology of the period were examined.
